Took out a new policy today. Fully comp: with a £200 excess. Max: they will cover me for content is £3000. I asked for more and said I was prepared to pay more, but they refused. Insured by safeguard. How can I get my fully auto: sat system, Soalr panels, RCD radio cassette with 10 CD changer and other stuff insured as extras even though they are fixed to the Camper. Any advice, would appreciate it.

had a similar problem with my previous insurer last weekmore towards the usual rip off quote and posted on here for info. Got some pointers towards "caravan guard" with whom I am now going. They only do motorhomes and caravans so they are more particular about out little idiosyncrsies!!

We are with safeguard, but we dont have all your little extras, would they be covered on your household insurance? What ever you do, do not go with the AA, we have had bad service from them in the past.

Being a greenhorn in this country, I took the whole package Safeguard offered, reckon I am stuck with them for the rest of the year. AA is part of the service. I am quite happy with their quote which is of £288.00 fully comp: I am aware of household Insurance, but they will not cover anything fixed, only personal and transfereable. Fingers crossed regards AA. Thanks anyway.

Just paid £396 for £20k motorhome ,2 drivers and recovery and usual legal cover, contents etc, but im only 32 with no no claims bonus.
