Insurance Problem!!

Can anyone help. I've just had to cancel my motorhome policy with safeguard after I mentioned we will be working on a campsite (where our motorhome will be situated) for a while as part of an 8 month Euorpean tour (working half that time)

They won't insure as it is business use!!??

Can anyone help in recommending an insurer that will cover this????

That's odd - Insurance companies make up their own rules! :(

You're not actually using it for business use tho, just to live in while working away from home.

Would they still say this if you parked it down the road and walked to work?

Phone one of the clubs as many of their wardens live in their caravan/vans during the season

NFU Mutual cover me for business use of the motorhome. Contact your local office: NFU Mutual Local Branches Directory

Thanks people, that's really helpfull.

I did explain to the woman that the motorhome is in the campsite we are working at, and that it would not be used to travel to and from work - she was having none of it.

But thanks again, hopefully I'll get it sorted.

I had exactly the same problem with Safeguard when I told them I was self-employed and would be using it to stay where I found temporary work. I went to NFU in the end who didn't have a problem with it at all - just 'class 1 business use'.
 
I'm off to see NFU tommorow morning.

Really appreciate the advice peeps!:)
 
Insurance when working on a camp site

Try the caravan & camping club thats who we used when we were site wardens.
