May have this wrong but doesn't a campervan have to follow certain criteria to qualify as a camper? I'm thinking issues such as windows, fixed furniture, decals etc. If the the van cannot be reasonably identified as a campervan, doesn't that affect insurance?

I think I would prefer it if people "Did" know we were living in the van. I would imagine a white van parked somewhere quiet that looks like a works van is much more of a potential target to thieves than one that has windows, is clearly a motorhome and is likely to have people in it.
Indeed Barry. I'd probably leave a low wattage night light on in that situation.
