Admiral
I'm going through something similar with my son at the moment and this is what we've found.
He's 23, been driving a Peugeot 206 and 207 for not quite 5 years on an
insurance in my name, with him as a named driver. Now that he's earning we thought it was time he sorted out the
insurance, particularly as he wants to change the Peugeot for a Ford Ranger.
So after many heated words and hours on the interet (his, not mine) he's found Admiral and it seems that if he takes the
insurance out in his name with me as a named driver (even though we're not at the same address) it's less than if he's the only driver. I've suggested that he offers a pretty hefty
insurance excess and suddenly the
insurance on the Ranger is possible, so the Ranger is possible.
My son is happy because he can have it, I'm happy because the
insurance is not just in his name but at his address, his father is happy because he's not paying the premium any more and the garage is happy because they've sold the Ford Ranger.
God Bless Admiral. Hope it works for you and yours.
