Well! Rang round various insurers.....
Adrian Flux: no problem nothing required £276 ( may price match) 90 days Europe
AIB : no problem, Need DVLA rejection letter and photos £249 270 days Europe £78.55 Breakdown
Saga...forget it! Only cover if registered as motor caravan
NFU: no problem nothing needed £313 only £500 personal effects covered year round Europe cover
Aviva: go to Comfort Insurance
Comfort Insurance: want V5, gas certificate, letter from DVLA and photos 5 interior, 5 exterior to quote for 90 day Eu cover as "campervan" and " might consider " motorhome cover with 180 days once they have had all photos etc! FORGET IT!! £65 breakdown

That's as far as I am looking, going with AIB!

Having said they can't quote until I have sent all paperwork, Comfort say £260.75 for campervan cover 90 days Europe

Yep thats the prob if insuring here, log book details,im with aib but mine is motorcaravan in l book,i was going to build a small van for just days out with kids and there bikes but dont look to good with dvla, why did we let them move all our details from ballymena to swansay.

Have you tried Scenic yet.................. as far as I am concerned they are brilliant!

I was with scenic for two years.
When I came on here I read about AIB.
I got a quote from them which was £150 cheaper than scenic.
I now have my car and Motorhome insured with AIB.

Went with AIB, their breakdown also was £78 for 180 days Europe which was good. Adrian Flux price matched AIB but their breakdown was only 60 days. Had not heard of scenic till too late! Next year! Amazing that Saga had not heard of the DVLA issue! They were very sniffy about a conversion not registered.

And as i said all along,if in a acc with third party and you have no letter to prove you could be up the creek without a paddle, always make sure all in ink.
