I have a Mercedes sprinter long based converted van. For past 6 years odd I’ve stayed with Adrian Flux as found recovery service so good and insurance cover competitive.
now though they refused to come get me off muddy field as 1. Say I’m only covered if vehicle actually not working and 2. I’d have to pay way extra to be hoisted out, and that’s after me asking every year if I’m still covered if I get stuck off rd and being assured I was 🙃🤪
.
so first question is which insurance companies would you folk recommend for my vehicle, around 10,000 miles a year mileage and me in early 70s ?
and 2. I understand green flag recovery is good generally, but any other recommendations there as well please.
im due renewal end of this month

Give someone with a Tractor or 4WD a fiver or tenner to tow you off. I am not surprised they refused, I think they all would do the same.

Did you ever get that assurance in writing ? (eg email) or just vocal?

If you ask again and they don't put it in writing it is worth sending an email "Thanks for conversation earlier today in which you confirmed ...."

The breakdown cover that comes with Caravanguard will pull you out of muddy fields. It's stated clearly in print on their website and Ts & Cs.

There may be others who offer this service, of course.
