Hi, just last week I saw either picture/photo instructions on how to use on of those motor home points they have in France and Germany, where you shove in a couple euro and get water, electricity, empty toilet etc.

I want to show a friend but can't remember where on earth I saw it - I'm fairly sure it was through this site ...??

thanks

Yes TheTeaPackets, I saw that link too but cannot find it now. It may be easier to go into YouTube and search for Some Aires in France. You don't need to be a member to open their video clips.

Here is a link to what may be what your after: Motorhome Aires de Service - YouTube

Good Luck

As fairytooth said there are different types of service points so instructions for one might not be any good for another. The best thing to do is have a good look at the facilities on the aire/stellplatz and work out if it's free or needs a token or a 2 euro coin to give you fresh potable water or an hours electricity.
Even if it does need a token you can probably dump your toilet waste and clean the cassette out without paying anything - if there's a working tap above the lift up toilet waste drain it's for cleaning not drinking.
But sometimes the bollard type service points don't work for anything. Then again some work for everything including unmetered electricity for free or have a trust box for you to drop a few euro in for each night you stay.
Best of all if there's another motorhome on there try to ask them what to do whatever their nationality or language skills :)
