Installing a New Awning

Hi - I am on the look out for a second hand awning to fix onto the MH.

Just started to wonder how easy they are to fit - what are the dangers of drilling holes into the side of the MH?

Anyone with any advice gratefully received

Matthew

hi
i have a mk 6 transit van and i just fitted my awning by using a plastic awning channel from my local caravan dealers and screwed it to the side above the guttering, works well for me but it is only a van after all so what the hell!!

i have just bought a free standing awning from flebay which i will try to see if its any better, handy if you wish to stay on a site for more than the one night, its a drive away one so you can leave it and use the van for getting around then return.

I Did think about a Drive away one, but as we are wanting to wild Camp a lot, it could end up a just extra weight, without being used.

Having spent 12 months looking at MH - we are finding it just has hard to decide what extras to get - Bike Rack, Fixed Awning, Canoe, Satellite - the list goes on!

Cheers
Matthew

That is exactly the same as my van(camp swing 544), mine came with a 3m Fiamma F45i fitted and it does attach to the side wall. I have no idea of how to attach one but I will look at my folder full of instructions and manuals later to see if there is anything of help. I can post a picture too if it helps.

Hi Just Jane,

That would be great - any picture of the inside showing the fixture would be very welcome.

Thanks
Matthew

There seems to be three brackets along the length of the awning, try looking on the Fiamma website, I found it helpful when I was looking at privacy rooms for it, they sell all sorts of spares and bits.
My awning is an F45plus.
