 anyone know where i can buy front wheel bearing sets & steering column top bearing for 1977 Mk4 cortina (starcraft) needed for mot retest asap tryed ebay ect.

regards andy:cool:.

is it not possible to take the number from the bearings to a local bearing supplier .front wheel beering shouldbe easy. not a car spares a real bearing shop.
steeringtop bearing may have to be converted to a bronze bush or something maybe brass . google bearingsuppliers for your area.
cheers alan.

arnt most parts still available at the local motor factors for the cortinas .think they are the same as that other ford after the cortina (the one i have never mastered the spelling for siera ???????)

I have posted a link in the website links area.
Lots of stuff is available, but quite often unless you have a QH or Intermotor part number you can struggle.
I needed a fan switch, found on on Ebay quoting an Intermotor parts number, Matched this to a QH quivelent, and bought one of a different brand, then the saga began, the new one was faulty!, I then found a guy on the web who buys obsolite stock and he sold me an Intermotor one for £4.50 inc P&P the motor factor was £17!
The lesson here is we all need to keep a diary of part numbers used on our vehicle, then the local factor should be able to supply 60% of the stuff, the rest can be found on the internet.
