Looking for info around whitehaven coast line.Any places to wild camp, places to walk the dog and take the kayak out.Going monday ,.Whats the weather like at the moment ,thank you.

Hi Gary,

If you are travelling from home, you may be going round the coast close to Barrow in Furness. If so, why not try the north end of Walney Island. Plenty of space, miles of golden beach and not crowded. We also had a pleasant overnighter in Seascale car park, water and toilets available. It may be crowded through the day though at this time of year.

Hi Gary.
Earlier this year we were in Whitehaven and we intended overnighting at the far harbour car park below the monument as it looked fantastic.
However we were visited by the young lads with the boom boom speakers and I think it may be a meeting place.
We moved a little south to St Bees and overnighted looking out at the sea without any problems.

*****'s link is Bardsea - is it meant to be St Bees??

I don't know about wilding spots, but as for weather (we're 25 miles N) it's currently great - tomorrow's forecast not so good, Friday's much better, beyond that who knows!! (Cumbrian weather is changeable - unless it's dire.)

You can stay on the car park at st bees for a couple of quid a night, the signs clearly state that overnighting is allowed as long as you have a ticket, great views and great beach. You can stay quite legally on any of whitehavens car parks so you could also stay on the car park overlooking the harbour at the back of tesco.
If you want to go fully wild ie not pay then follow the road at the back of tesco,s till you come to the sea front, turn right along the narrow road adjacant to the beach after about 200yds there is a parking spot on your right, I havent stayed here (but have checked it out) so cant be sure if any local yobbo's may use the area.

Thank you very much ,will be trying out next week.

We also had a pleasant overnighter in Seascale car park.

So did we.
We could have left a contribution in the honesty box if somebody hadn't nicked it.
