Does anyone on the forum personally know someone who has suffered from identity theft?
I had a phone call today from my van insurance company offering to flog me insurance against identity theft. The script they were using was very scary, I can only assume it was written by a psycologist or the like. For every negative reply I gave they had an immediate reply with examples of the dire frognostications that could follow if I didnt take out the insurance. They used examples of people having mortgages and the like taken out in their name. They pointed out that identity theft has increased by 500%, even so, I do not know anyone myself that has had a problem with identity theft other than the usual stuff about credit card theft. I've declined their offer for now.
