With a growing clutch of grandchildren, we're seriously thinking of changing our much loved 2018 6m 2 berth Devon Arizona PVC, with front lounge, for a 4 berth Devon Sahara 6.3m. Link below.

I'm wanting to tap into the pool of wisdom out there about other good 4 berth PVCs. A particular essential for us is a feeling of internal light and space and in particular to continue to have a front lounge with an uninterrupted view out of the woosh-bang door ie not a kitchen or other furniture half way blocking that entrance.

Want to purchase first half of 2023. New or nearly new.

Ideas??

As you can see the galley in a typical Globecar makes very little differance to the view out of the 'woosh bang', even in this case where we were looking 'down' on the view.

If, like us, you already have 4 travel seats and the front two swivel you can use your existing van with the cabbunk which fits on the swiveled driver and passenger seats. we have used one on the occasions we take a couple of grandkids with us. It does depend what age they they are but all of ours have been fine.

His present van has a front lounge.

I happen to think that a picture of a good view, is always better when there's a kettle in view too.
Brew and a view is what its all about. (y)

We've had that kettle for 45 years, it's been in photo's of ours from all around Europe, I make a brew, sit down in passenger seat and take a photo. Sadly the spot we where parked you can no longer overnight since it all went a bit wild due to CV-19.

Thanks for the reminder. Sadly only have 3 travel seats. It could still be a useful way of adding capacity . I'll look it up again.

Is there a 4 berth variant? Haven't found one on their site yet?
The main point was that having a galley part way across SLD might not block the view as much as you might think, they did do an extension to front bed similar to 'cabbunk' not sure if this is still the case, similar systems to this will mean there is much more choice of makes and models, failing that Hymer make similar layouts but with a lifting roof to make them 4 berth (originally Globecar but transferred across to it's stablemate), also at one time you could get models with added fibreglass roof, must be some secondhand ones about, but will be few and far between.
I would note that we can sleep 4 in our Campscout, but that's only in 'emergency' when taking the girls, I get dumped in front and three sleep in the large rear bed, normally when taking the girls we use campsites and take a small tent, we find this better for the few times we take them rather than compromise the rest of our travels with a layout which might not suit us.

There's the Adria 4 Twin. You lose the big garage and the fixed rear bed but it looks like 4 can travel in comfort.

We have the Adia Twin with the fixed rear bed and four seat belts but this only has a bed that can be made from the seating area and driver's swivel seat, short and not very comfortable

Have to agree, we have the usual kitchen part way across the side door but we've never ever considered wanting 'a better view' and find the space and view with the slider opened really nice.
We have a fixed transverse double bed at the rear. Currently our grandsprogs are 5 and 3. ATM we make up the dinette to a short single for the 5yr old and then swivel the 2 front seats so they face each other with about 10cm gap between them and the ability to 'tip' the seats means we can get them pretty flat, a cot mattress goes on top and the arms come down (one is extended with a short piece of carboard tube) to stop her falling out, it works well and both girls love it. Not sure how much longer the front seat setup will work for though but I expect pulling the seats further apart with a piece of 6mm ply before a larger mattress would work until she's quite a bit older.
We have a wind out awning and a privacy room which their mum and dad use if they come as well. I guess that'll also get used for the kids as they get older providing they still want to have anything to do with grandma and grandad now they've started smelling a bit!
Campsites only of course, wouldn't want to wild that way TBH.
