I wondered why you cannot get a van like this compact green van from America until it tell you about the "Improved" milage:lol-049:Check out the video.

14 MPG - economical!! and what about the nitrogen filled tyres!

You got to love the spec. Inbuilt generator, huge tanks for everything including LPG.

A 'stealth van' would be my choice for a full time wilding van.

Say a LT or large sprinter

I think it depends what you want your van for. Weekends in the back of a transit are probably lovely, I've slept in worse ;)

But if you intend to spend more time in your van then give some thoughts to those crappy days you can't use outside space.

14 mpg ...V8 engine... "safeguarding the environment"... I'm afraid the Americans do not have a clue :lol-053:

They've hardly moved on in Green technology in 50 years. Even the trucks still all look the same boxy shape!

When I was out there years ago, you could fill your cars tank with loose change so not much of an incentive to be green but now things are changing in the land of the free. We saw that when the southern states flooded. Many of the ruined houses have just been abandoned, whole areas left to rot. That was before the economic crash!!

Remember, the US gallon is smaller than ours, by roughly 20% if my memory serves me so that makes it much better at 16.8 MPG!!!!

Convert it to LPG which is about 20% less efficient than petrol but half the price and you've got the equivalent of 28 to the gallon or thereabouts. Same as my MH

Reminds me of this. I took this photo on Wednesday in the Horsham/Crawley area... the most astonishing MH I've ever seen! By the time I got my phone organised it was almost gone but trust me, it was huge and very tall. It was attracting a fair bit of attention - not least because of the exhaust fumes! :D The couple in the cab just smiled... I'm sure they're used to an audience :) Wondered if it was anyone on here? Anyway, it was fabulous and made my day :drive:

Will keep an eye out, better load a few more tins of heavy, ;).

Going to be on the camping area from Wednesday, looking forward to seeing other punters vehicles as much as the show ones. One or two days at the show, then down to Italy.
Vans only half converted, better then a tent though. lol

Yes, really like the artic idea, I have taken note of your pics. Certainly makes a lot of sense to me. If I needed a lot more space or was full timing that is the way I would go without a doubt. I don't understand why it's not done a lot more.

have thought about putting a 4x4 unit under the trailer .that would make it perfect. unfortunately not alot of nice sized ones here in uk , a nice mitsubishi fg would be nice . but then we cant have every thing ....or can we .hee hee .

Now your talking :). That would be ideal. 4x4 Master's should be out soon, oh and a 6x6 Sprinter, 5 difflocks.

you can get a 4x4 mascot or you could . iveco daily do them as well plus vw lt. but i think i would stick with a mitzy. or an isuzu. i see what /where they get to in africa .and even with out 4x4 you can treat them hard. mind i think i might bust the trailer as its getting on abit now . have changed axles and springs through abuse. part of the fun is not having it and still getting to way out places . i often think a 16ft box on a 7,5 ton mitzy is the way really but i have what i have .
