Anyone who has the Ducato base vehicle has the pocket in the middle of the dash. For me it just held CDs, but I wanted an occasional table that I could use to stand my cuppa on when I am sat in my favourite TV watching chair (the passenger seat).

I also wanted light in the front cab when parked, but not have everybody looking into the van, so I have fitted some net curtains to the front cab which tie back when not needed. I have a metal roller screen for the front window, but that makes the front cab very dark when it is lowered, so this way, I can have light and a bit of privacy.

NOW that is a great idea, is it canterleved ?

I wanted to be able to easily remove it if I wanted to, so it is made in two parts, one part pushes into the cubby hole and the tray slots onto it and is locked into place by a bolt. It seems quite secure and does not wobble as the tray jams underneath the dash. I am confident it would also stay in when driving, but I can always fit another support inside the cubby if it is needed.

Yes like the thinking on that is that the dashboard of a A class? Different to a standard cab

Yeah having a good place to put a cpl of Cups or a Snack at a quick rest stop is often a problem!,,,
I just use the top of my Multi fuel Stove as a tray (As it’s obviously cold & Clean when driving) But like this trey idea a lot, I just haven’t got the pocket !.

Definitely on my list of jobs for the week. Have often thought of a similar design for our Boxer. Currently the only small tray-like thing would appear to be the glove compartment door which is situated right over the cab fuse board. Yikes! A no tea of coffee zone.

You've done a nice job!

Beemer that's so ingenious - love it! Is it OK if we all form an orderly queue for the next time you're bored please? :lol-049:
