..............Another time a largish group were on the road between Laid and Sango (A838) they attempted to park up in the carpark at Ceannabeinnie beach - which might have held one of them but certainly not the group
I think that Traveling in a convoy of 3/4 vehicle or more on the roads in the UK & her island s is really a bad idea,,,a Single M/H is often looked upon in complete contempt by the locals when it visits certain places, So a convoy of M/Hs snarling up a small village, Main Comuting route, Popular POI Or Beutie spot is bound to be Big ‘Negative’ news & Gossip to some & a further talking point for them for the rest of the season as well !. Made even worse if ‘The Convoy occupant s’ Keep themselves planted & don’t Explore, interact & possibly even contribute in some way to where they visit!.
Wouldn’t it be great if a few of us could (By Prior arrangement with the locals & a proper site stay arranged ) visit a popular POI armed with Litter Pickers, Bags & a few quid in our pocket to actually Spend in the local cake & Bun Shops, Cafes & Corner stores after A mass joint litter picking effort to try & raise The Negativity we often encounter.
If you think about it, We could choose say 10 or 12 places to visit in such a way that covers a swathe of the UK & THATS a 2 month trip in the summer by itself !.
‘The Wild Camping Clean Up Tour’
Yes a dozen or so motorhomes travel to several POIs together then all park overnight . As long as you're not Italian that should be fine
What is the NC500 I just looked at Google Maps and it showed me the centre of WICK , we spent a few hours in Wick once and thought it the worst place we had seen in Scotland? so am I missing something here ? UPDATE AH , now I see the plot, found more on Google about the route, we did a lot of it years ago before we had Motorhomes , we B n B as we went along , we had an estate car at the time, and took sleeping bags in case we couldn't find B n B but had no trouble, the trip inspired us to get a camper van as we saw lots of wild campers as we travelled and thought that is for us, I did not know then that it was known as the NC500 .Has anyone else seen the FB post of 6-7 vans going to do the NC500 in Convoy ?
Pass me the hankies, please.

No we were in a queue for fish and chips, they were delicious NOT. hee hee so a Wetherspoons now that is an 100% improvement what a grey drab place is Wick.we thought .How could you say that?
It has a great Tesco AND a Wetherspoons - OK there is absolutely nothing else but Thurso - the only other 'town' up there has a scrappy little Tesco (no fuel) and no Weatherspoons and not very much besides
BTW how on earth did you manage to spend a couple of hours there - were you broken down?
