Not really but do have wings which allow us to park in some exclusive spots.
The discount for the ferry to South Island more than paid for the membership of the NZMCA.

However, there is trouble brewing. Some members are advocating that only those with fixed toilets should be allowed on Freedom Camps and not porta potty carriers. This would impact on nearly five thousand members. This issue has been rumbling on since 2013 and now the NZ parliament is getting involved.

A case of watch this space!

Why? 🤔

I really don't know Marie. There has been rumblings about the huge increase of young tourists buying cheap cars and camping in them and not being mindful of the environment. The environment here is very precious to most Kiwi's and don't like to see it abused.
Tbh the nzmca do come across as a bit 'caravany'!

Sounds like they lost the case for over-hyping the product rather than it not physically giving you wings.

Cost them $13 million ($10 per claimant) though.

Not sure I understand that Ral.

Does it mean that only RV's with pump out toilets allowed?

Fixed toilets only Rob with pull out cassettes or RV's. Doesn't make any sense, perhaps it is down to snobbery after all? Or, more likely, a caravan owner mentality. Not that I'm sniffy about those pimped up skips on wheels😁

Admission; we were invited into a 32' caravan with slide-outs a couple of days ago. It was stunning (washes mouth out with water), all leather reclining armchairs, matching settee, 40" TV, huge fridge freezer, microwave, full size cooker, large shower room, king size bed.
It was just lacking a motor!
Having said all the above, the owner had endless trouble with it from new, mainly on the electrics side. Cost him £78k. Made by Sprite, UK made.

Sprite have come a long way since 1948 :)

Guess you'll be coming back to Blighty next year with a pimped up mankini and blingy MOHO aspirations then? ;)

I wouldn't even get my mankini wardrobe in that!
I have my slouching about Mankini's.
My casual Mankini's.
My work Mankini's.
My smart Mankini's.
My formal wear Mankini's.
My 'pulling' Mankini's.
My giggolo Mankini's.
And of course my lurve Mankini's.

Gotta go Marie, I've got an appointment for a Brazilian. It's looking like burst sofa 'down there'.

When we were researching for the self-build we looked at a lot of new stuff, but the fifth wheelers were fantastic, much better equipped than any Moho, up to RV standard, not very good for wild camping though
