I am in a position of being able to drive my Hymer anymore soon and the only person in my family who is able to drive it is may stepson who was a fireman with a licence to drive Fire Tenders. However he has retired and said he was told he can no longer drive c vehicles without a medical . As this expired he think his licence went with it. I tried to explain the he does not lose his entitlement to drive, As the Hymer is a C1E vehicle I said he can still drive it, we do not know if a continued medical is required as he already had a C1E licence anyway. If a person had a C1E and then got a C with a medical. Does the C1E need a medical as well as the C licence. Until 70???
Th alternative is to drop the weight down to 3500kgs by removing the heavy extras and making it a B1E vehicle. Any brains out there that know????

It would depend on when your Stepson passed his driving test. If he has 'Grandfathers rights', ie passed his test pre 1997 then he will have the C1 until he is 70. only then is a medical required.

Or he is diagnosed with something like diabeties,
