Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me how much a Hymer S660 1989 weighs. I have looked in the log book and it's blank. I need to get my insurance sorted and they want to know the weight:confused:. (Proff, you’re fabulous for helping me with the turbo advice, Thank you.);)

I'm a newbie, to all of this, it's exciting.:D

Hi and welcome
The best way is to go to a weigh bridge and you should be able to get a print out.
Its accurate and takes into account any modifications that might have been done You will also be able to work out your payload

There is a plate on your vehicle that tells you the weight and Axel weights that are the max for your vehicle as well as the chassis number. On the Merc version it is under the bonnet. I do not know its location on a Fiat or other make.

My Hymer S700 is 4600kg max on the plate yet fully loaded on our way to France we went onto the weigh bridge and came in at 4300kg. 3400 kg Unladen yet with extras added we still only weigh 3380kg unladen.

The other two figures on the plates for front and rear axel loads These do not necessarily add up to the vehicles maximum load weight.

Thank you everyone - Hymer baby

Thank you everyone,

It's a Hymer Mercedes s660. she's in rehab (garage) for smoking at the moment but she’s due out on Tuesday so I will have a good look under the bonnet. Might need a step ladder, I’m pixie size. :D

This is the most fabulous way of communicating about this sort of thing.
Thank you all once again.:)

When you open the front the plate is infront of you just over the rim. It may be hidden behind the padding.

If it is the Merceedes 410D chassis it should be 3600Kg unladen and 4600kg laden.

Front Axel Load 1700kg - Rear Axel Load 3200kg - Max Train Weight 5900kg

I believe the S700 and the S660 are the same basic vehicle with a different layout inside.

Some Merc's have a VIN & Weight black sticker with white type on the drivers seat base or in the door shut... info as per John, also your V5 (log book) will give you the gross weight.
