Hi, Piglets Pilot started a thread a week or two back about Scarborough traders complaining. In the the thread I said that the other side of the argument / point of view is also valid. As somebody who lives in a seaside town we see the problems that irresponsible Wildies can create.
Unfortunately as the following photo shows, taken by me at 9.0 this morning, I have a chance to demonstrate what most householders & holiday makers, not traders or councillors, complain about.
This family had parked up directly under a “ no eating no selling no sleeping sign” then taken over the pavement that leads to the beach blocking the way for old gits like me on his way to the shops, families on their way to the beach & generally making a nuisance of themselves. Is it really any wonder that people living opposite of all this complain? Especially as like as not a pile of litter is left behind.
Incidentally I noticed three other vans also parked up, blinds still drawn, in the same no sleeping area & in direct view of the council workers on the cliff top.
We have a great lifestyle, but please remember it will only remain so if we are discreet & do not test other folks patience.
I have deliberately smudged the photo as I have no wish to cause undue embarrassment.

desmond looking what motor it is it's more than likely broke down waiting for the AA :lol-049::raofl:
fire suit on waiting incoming:lol-049:

The photo looks to me as they are parked quite neatly in a corner, and that the pavement ends just a few feet past the van, how about coordinates for the picture so we can judge a bit more on google earth, and are they leaves under the back of the van ? which the local council haven't cleaned up..

Lorry :drive:

As I have said before, underneath that orribly gnarled uncompromising northern visage,
you have a kindly heart old un. No breakdown, it was just breakfast on the pavement time.

The police were advising motorhome owners just now that they were welcome to stay during the day, no charge, but night time in this particular area is not tolerated.

The fact that we had a murder occur in this locality a couple of days ago has made the law a teensy bit edgy.

Thats not the end of the pavement (he's in Scotland) it MIDGES.

I remember reading about a member of the Ramblers Association who took offence at cars parked over/blocking footpaths - he would walk over the top of the obstruction. Problem solved??!! Personally I'd have sat down and poured meself a cup of tea and a bowl of cornflakes.

Yeeeeessss, A neighbour did attempt to talk to a similar couple a year or two back.
Just a gentle suggestion that perhaps it was not a good idea to be quite so public.
His wife still remembers the rage & tirade of abuse, :mad1: all in front of children.

Who needs it ?

Is it only me that cannot see the picture clearly? Seems to have some sort of weird effect applied to it..

On the way up to Benderloch recently, we overnighted near Luss on Loch Lomond. There was a scruffy looking HGV parked up (a bulk tipper) and the scruffy looking driver was putting his screens in place.

He was gone early the next morning and as we walked the dogs we noticed something in the road where he had been parked. He had only had a dump while it was dark!!!:rolleyes2:

No doubt wildcampers will get the blame for that as well.

i hope you cleaned it up with one of your doggy bags:scared::lol-053::lol-049:

Thats exactly right young man and furthermore we remove all trace of poo, we do not **** in the street and leave it. You might be getting confused with Doncaster. :lol-049:

Oh sorry, I forgot, you live in France which has wall to wall dog crap because the French do not pick up. :scared:

i'll have you know sir :lol-053: we now have very few dogs roaming the streets of donny:scared: funny that really it seemed to coincide with the start of our east european multi culture quarter

Well its good news & not so good news time.

Mr & Mrs inconsiderate were moved on (along with three other motorhomes ) Sunday morning. However the local paper reports two large groups of travellers have moved into the area, one at Poole & the other in Bournemouth. :mad2:

Another summer of discontent brewing I think.
