Hi All, I'm still looking hard for my first MH and I have found a lovely Rapido Low Profile. The only problem it seems to have is the shower tray has a big yellow stain on it from what looks like someone Storing or spilling something on it. I contacted Brownhills to see about a replacement tray and they have quoted £265 + VAT for the tray and 8 hours labour @ £70 per hour + VAT. This works out at over £900 for the replacement tray To be fitted. I am sure I could do it myself, but even so £265 for just the tray!! My Brother has his car serviced by BMW and their hourly rate is about £40/hr. By the way its on a fiat chassis not a Rolls Royce LOL. Does anyone have information on other suppliers and prices for this type of work?

Try Rainbow Conversions - for all your motorhome needs for the tray and sealant as far as how difficult it is to do I have no idea

Rather than change it have you tried either steam cleaning and or the stuff double glazing companies use to clean plastic. Might save you a lot of grief and money.

You could always put one of those coloured foam type shower mats usually sold by the mtr at caravan dealers over the shower base most people do this even without the stain forget ripoff Brownfools at those sort of prices I could live with the stain.

I agree with Kelly 58. Place a mat over it. Not worth the money. With the £900 you could travel to Spain and Portugal for a month, inclusive of all cost, Gasoline, food and ferry.

Our local Fiat dealer charges £70 per hour, I'de have thought BMW would be dearer than £40 per hour, wonder if they want to do my next service.:D:D:D

That would be my thoughts too. Plus you might pay £xxx for a new tray then drop something on it and crack it first time out.
If the mat doesn't cover it you can get stuff to paint ceramic or plastic.
The fact that you are a new motorhomer stands out because you sound unrealistic about how immaculate you will be able to keep it when you are living in it.

PS: I suspect the reason Brownhills have given such a high quote is because they don't want the job. You sound very picky about rejecting any imperfections.

Thanks for the tips and you're right about being picky. When you hand over your life savings you want to get the best you can for the money. Thats why I'll probably buy this one and all the others that have been neglected can sit for sale until after the credit crunch!

I think that will be the answer, thanks. Poco
