12v tv it says it uses 16watts, how long is it LIKELY to work for on 2x 110amp fully charged batteries. allowing for the 50% usage, cheers

I use this = The conversion of Watts to Amps at fixed voltage is governed by the equation Amps = Watts/Volts.

So 1.33 amps an hour.

So in theory 110amps which is 50% of your battery bank divided by 1.33 amps = 82 hours.

.....I wondered that...latest Avtex is 25w....21inch thought ?

My 3D HD receiver lasts for ages and the sound and pictures in particular are excellent mainly because it is a radio which always has the best pictures!!!

Our 16" Akura TV is just 14w or 1.2 amps. It was about the lowest I could get and its been great.

Its not just the TV though, presumably you have other drains. Water, lights etc.

I have noticed a few posts on forums lately about the low volume and poor sound quality on Avtex TVs. One poster asked if it was possible to fit a sound bar.

Posts I saw were poor sound on Cello, will find out soon as we just bought a 22” with built in sat decoder. We are both going deaf though so may not be best judges :)

Yes,ive got one of those. Its bazaar but the sound quality is different from one cd to the next, also the tv channels are the same scenario, one station you can have the volume sky high, pun not intended and change the channel and you have to turn the volume back down,I suspect its not the tv but the broadcasters and the same with cds.A cracking good telly for the money though.

cheers , yes but lights are all LED`s which I can put on in either one side or the other or both and are dimmers, water is only on a short time, we also have 2 x 90w solar panels, so iam hoping we will be ok even if we find a place to stay a couple of nights out off the way.:beer:

I have just tried a usb with 8 films on it they are all bang on, cant comment on tv as there is no signal where its parked, but when I tried it indoors I thought the bass was a bit lacking

I am sure you would be.
I have my 240V AC Fridge in my van running - so have the inverter on 24/7 as well - and I am still having the batteries going into float mode (so 100% charged) even this time of year with the solar working. So come the touring season there will be no issues for you.

We have a 20" Cello TV. The sound is pretty feeble, but adequate at a push. I suspect that the low sound level is one of the reasons these sets only use about 20W. We augment the sound of ours with rechargeable stereo speakers that can be recharged from any USB power supply and gives us about three watts per channel for about six hours between charges.

All these small 12v telly's have crap sound. Most of them of course have USB sockets and a headphone socket so all you need is some small USB powered speakers which you can get off ebay for less than a tenner and just plug them into to the TV. Makes a hell of a difference. They add about 2w to the power usage. We use a laptop for watching downloaded series etc and just swap the speakers to that. Speakers are small and just sit next to the TV on either side or the laptop on the TV table, unit thing in the rear lounge.

My latest 16” Avtex has far superior sound quality compared to my previous Avtex I had in my first motorhome 4 years ago.
