I'm planning a 7 or 8 week trip in Europe, how many nights should I get from my gas ?
Cooking, water heating and fridge but only when no EHU (4 weeks with EHU, 3 without)
I can carry 1 x 6kg and 1 x 13kg

No hard and fast figures because of all the variables but with your set up which is the same as ours, you should be fine with both tanks full. However, if you like two hot showers a day, have the heat on constantly and cook food taking an hour or more then you will struggle.
Good luck.

It's always difficult giving a figure, as how much your use of cooking and water heating may well be quite different to how much others use. Instead I'll give a couple of tips, we find water heating by Truma to be by far the highest user of gas, use it sparingly. If we are expecting to be on EHU we take a low watt travel kettle.

Sorry but its the same as saying how long is a piece of string and as others have stated depends on ones usage regarding outputs etc.

They sell gas in Europe cheaper than UK so if you run low buy one over there in France at Intermarche super markets the deposit on a propane bottle is 1€ on their own brand bottles. Buy one of THESE before you go and screw it onto your new french bottle and your UK propane will then screw into it.

I just did six and a half weeks in one spot on the Yorkshire coast, no hook up and just solar for power. I used 1 x 11kg Gaslow which lasted I think 30 days and I then switched to a full Calor 6kg which I reckoned must have been close to empty when we left on Thursday but it was still going. We had the fridge on constantly for the full time, water heater for showers but not every day, fire on maybe twice for an hour and just general cooking. I reckon on .7 litres a day during summer.

Its the gas fire on our van that uses lot of fuel and this time of year even in the UK you seldom need it. As said it depends on what your going to use but in summer you should be fine for that trip.

Thanks

Many thanks to everyone, great advice, adapter on my shopping list.
