Hot in bed? Autotrail

:DWe are having a problem with our Autotrail Cheyenne with island bed.
When the heating or hot water is turned on the bed and the bedroom become very hot. We have to raise the bed to let the heat out.
There is no way we could sleep with the heating on, even on it's lowest setting, or we would be "well done" in the morning.
All this wasted heat and the front of the motorhome remains cold.
Anyway, to get to my question. I was thinking of fitting a small extractor fan, like the ones used in household kitchens, in the base of the bed to draw the warm air and blow it forwards.
Has anyone done this before or can anyone see a problem with my idea?

Isn't that a luxuary problem; most of us have cold feet in bed :D:D:D
Serious:
Make a hole somewhere and mount one of these small, very cheap, 12V ventilators used in PC's. They are very silent and produce a good air draw.
I have one put in the upper raster of the fridge. Keeps it in working order when it is really hot (I admid, seldom used it; lack of hot days:cool:)

Good idea from Belgian to use the computer fans, any chance you could use a small bore pipe (simlar to blown air heating pipe and butterfly valves) with the fans to push the heat to the bathroom during the winter months and outside during the summer. Always nice to have a warm bathroom during the winter, but notice you are in Spain? so wouldn't require that during the summer. Also fit some insulation under the bed mattress during the summer. (foil type, similar to the stuff you fit behind central heating radiators). This would prevent the heat from coming through.

Happy Camping:cool:

You have a faulty unit:eek: return it to your dealer and get it sorted. My heater boiler is under my bed and no such problem. YOU must ring your dealer first thing there must be a blockage in the circulation system. If they say it is o.k tell them to sort it or you will be taking the van for an independent inspection.

ours gets slightly warm at the base of the bed but something sounds like it is not working correctly as advised in the previous post see your suplier first

We are booked into Brownhills on Sunday. Hope they sort the problem out...................
