i believe thames water has a ban also
so no doubt others will follow soon...unless we get rain to fill the reservoirs
just was wondering if it would effect filling motor homes water storage..???

When it was announced on the news it was "hosepipes cannot be used to water the garden, or for any other reason". I too wondered about filling the van.
We can fill the Rimor with a watering can, but the Bailey had one of those stupid Whale Aquasource filling points where you have to use a hose.

ii now hear that its southern water not thames water with a ban...sorry
We're 'serviced' by that bunch, here in East Sussex.

I'd already seen two contradictory dates, culminating in reading of a third date, which is reported as today. Fortunately, I'd already made sure that all my water butts were brim full. 🤣

The news tonight and what's currently available on the net, now says we can continue using a hosepipe until the 28th July.

So I've a few more days to wash the road dust and general muck off the van.

Until they change their minds again. 😱

Pudey's post made me laugh out loud when I got to the last one.😹

We are getting emails every day from Welsh Water with generic there's a fault wording. They also say there is extremely high demand for water in our area and they are asking us to use it sparingly where possible.

One of our water butt's is already empty but as we're currently in Dorset we're not using any Welsh water anyway.😸

I said to Phill yesterday what's to stop us filling up our water butt's from the river? It's only going to end up in the sea anyway.

May be worth checking into what you can and can't do without breaking their rules. Yesterday look north for us showed people on allotments filling water butts as well as watering cans from a hosepipe and that's the day the ban came into effect here. I don't know if they were breaking the rules though which is why I said it may be worth checking.

Using the river if you have it sounds okay

A watering can is fine to use, some people in the 80's "cleverly" put an adaptor on the waste pipe from the bathroom and used that.

This morning they have just had to shut a road off because for the last few weeks it has had a water leak, but this morning it burst big style and has lifted the road up,
So our water shortage just got bigger,
But if they had fixed it weeks ago when it first started a a fairly Small leakage then they would have saved thousands of gallons of water

Many water companies exempt blue badge holder and those on the Priority Services Register (PSR) from the hose pipe ban.
There is no cost to register for the PSR.

It is worthwhile checking your local water supplier before a ban is imposed

PSR is a free service offered by water companies to customers who may need extra support with their water and/or wastewater services.
This support is available for various reasons, including disability, illness, age, or language barriers.
Customers can register for the PSR to ensure they receive appropriate assistance during service interruptions or other situations where extra help is needed.

Who can register?
The PSR is designed for individuals who may need extra assistance, such as:
People with disabilities or long-term medical conditions.
Those who are elderly or have reached pensionable age.
Individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses.
People with hearing or sight conditions.
Those with mental health conditions.
Pregnant women or families with young children.
Individuals with language barriers or other communication needs.
Those who may need short-term support, such as after a hospital stay.
