Visiting daughter & family in Oregon...looked into hiring a van for two months and found the cost HORRID. Turns out to be cheaper to buy one $2200 against $9500

The yanks are crazy:rolleyes:, nice van but it dont justify the price for hire :).
Oh by the way have a nice time and good luck.
 
They moved for the usual reasons. Much better salaries, cheaper living and an area whose crime rate is the lowest in the USA. Health care covered by their employers and a most useful local delivery service.
The £2200 is the cost to them of this van....not a hire cost, that got ridiculous when they went to the usual RV. hire dealers with everything except the body seeming to be a chargeable extra - the Chevy seemed more sensible.
After all, when they lived with us over here, we had 3 Z28 Camaros between us, so she is used to driving fairly large vehicles
