Thought I would move this from the "Over 60" thread in the hope that more people would read it and respond. Thanks for your time.

Hi All,

I found a petition that is setup on (petitions.number10.gov.uk) regarding the re-naming of a road from RAF Lynham to Wooten Bassett. This is the road that all the fallen Servicemen and Servicewomen are taken when being returned home to the UK, from a theatre of war. The petition requests that the road be named, Highway of Hero's. I thought it a fitting tribute and signed, hope some of you guys will do the same. You do not have to be ex-services to do so. Thanks.

On the website go to International affairs and Defense to find the petition.

Agreed Mandrake, just signed up, and well done Pioneer for promoting this one;)

Thanks for bringing this to everyones attention, I knew about the route but didn't know about the petition, duly signed.

I hope you don't mind but I've posted this across on another m/home forum as this excellent cause needs as much publicity as possible imo.

Kind Regards,

Pete

Highway for heroes

Just signed the petition hope it goe's some way to help it's the least anyone can do.

I am more than honoured to sign this petition for our fallen lads

just added the website to facebook to get even more members!!!!:)whata worthy cause

I would gladly sign to recognise the price that our service men and women pay in serving their country. God bless them and their families! It's heart warming to know that there are still those people willing to sign up to keep our country a little safer!

Whilst I may not agree with the politicians motives for sending them into harm’s way, I support all of our armed forces 100%. Let’s get the job done and bring them home safe!!

I cannot sign. (No British) but this has all my sympathy. Those who give their lives for freedom deserve it. We may not forget.
Here, in Ieper (Ypres in Flanders fields) the last post is blown every evening since 1918, to keep the memory alive of those British who gave their lives for us. We will not forget, but we must make aware the younger generations what sacrifices where made to keep us free. But I'm afraid we have a generation of nitwits and too much 'alliens' nowadays

belgian my freind you may not be able to sign in person, but you have signed in your heart so consider you played your part thanks .
