Highland Laybys

Surprised by the article.

We have been stopping in laybys in the highlands for years, along with other vans-lorries-motorhomes etc,
never had any problems & I cannot recall seeing one of these notices either.

Possibly due to the fact that we usually arrive late & leave early.

I got awoken by the police one night in a Scottish layby, they said that I shouldn't be there overnight. I pointed out that I had driven 400 miles and was exhausted, they said 'don't worry, have a good kip' - Fair play!

This was reported a few months ago but it is an excellent reminder to keep it alive.

Thanks for the post as we have a lot of new members who will not know about this.

I have seen a few articles and posts similar to this in the last year. I hope Scotland isnt going to go like England has against wilding. Always the same arguments as well. Why dont they use a campsite, freeloaders, leaving a mess etc etc.

I have always thought Scotland to be less blinkered than England.
