Hi,

Thought I'd introduce myself. VW T4 Owner from North Wales, just started to do a bit of Wild Camping after my first trip Parked up at the side of the llangollen Canel between Trevor and Chirk. Great little spot with enough room for a few Vans/Campers.

Want to go again on Friday as She who must be obeyed has a girly night at home planned. Any ideas for other locations within 20 miles of Wrexham? Though about the Ponderosa Cafe at the horse shoe Pass, anyone camped here?

Welcome T4Guy,

I am in the same predicament Friday night and have opted for the local pub :D

I don't know the horse shoe pass so can't comment, but there is a nice spot at the southern tip of the Alwen Resevior which isn't too far from you.

If you become a site support you can download nearly 1500 spots, see button top right. I'm sure you will find somewhere in your neck of the woods!

Regards Captain

Welcome to the forum T4Guy.
You may not be interested, but the car park attendant at the LONG stay car park in Llangollen (follow the signs from Castle Street) tells me that after 5.00pm it is free and overnighting is tolerated, providing you park up in the corner away from the entrance.

Another spot I noticed was along the feeder canal above the town, (turn left 200 yds after the Motor Museum) before you get to the Chain Bridge Hotel, there is a picnic spot which would also be very good. No signs I could see prohibiting O/nites. This one is only a short walk from the Horseshoe Falls.

Regards

Tco

Is this the spot? Chirk, Wrexham - Google Maps
