hi, wildcamping in france is easy loads of spots and the French are not as anti as the english, its legal to park overnight in France,

but look up the words on google 'french aires' you don't need to wildcamp if you don't want too.

Hi

the most usefull info we can give is buy a tom tom and drive via the toll free route it saves you hundreds of pounds when you travel up and down we travel to south spain every yr in our van and we dont travel on the toll rds they are a con mate

just a rough guide we spend 250 euro each way on feul and then your tolls are on top that are a fortune 20 euro here and 40 euro there soon builds up

so 500 euro for 3500 miles rounds trip in 5 days we save a fortune going toll free and it only adds 2 hrs on our journey

wilding and aires are ok but we have found municipal sites are good specialy with kid wanting to run round and ride bikes etc. van looks cool. tel me whats in the roof is it a bunk or is it just for heat height? cheers phil

Van looks fine, France is a great place for wild camping or using aires. Avoid motorway aires or stopping places overnight as these can be the places where you can have problems. Big cities can also attract undesirables but there are always some nice villages outside of these often with a free aire or cheap. I see you intend to return via Paris, fantastic city to visit, there is a campsite about 3 miles from the Eiffel tower Welcome to the Bois de Boulogne Camp Site/ Paris/ France

We have also wildcamped at the Le Bourget airport aircraft museum Paris Air and Space Museum

If it was me I would stop at Marine Parade next to dover harbour and get the early ferry in the morning. Drive down to Normandy, spend a day or two there and then work my way around the coast in Brittany. Buy this book All the Aires France 2nd Edition :: Aires & Stopovers :: Motorhome Guides :: Vicarious Books and you will always find somewhere free or cheap to stay. There are loads of great wild spots in Normandy and Brittany as well as free aires and the north coast of Brittany is stunning. You have the added advantage of being able to get under height barriers as well.

hi,
your baby looks very nice, we had one that size when the kids where young, we toured round france and with a small tent and the van we had a brilliant time. now as they have flown the nest , we stay on the aires as other members have metioned, just go for it ,you will have a great time.
