Hi all,

I am having trouble getting my Truma heating system to fire up. I switch on and hear it make a ticking like sound which i assume is part of the ignition, and after a few seconds it switches off and the 'no flame' light appears on the control.

Anyway, none of this is helped by the fact that i dont have a manual, or even know what the system model is to try and find one. So I was hoping if I post some photos of the device someone here might be able to identify the modil for me so i can try and find a manual.

Thanks

Dan

I hope it is something simple.
My van has a safety device built in to the window above the heater vent.
The heater won't light if the window is open or the plastic cover is in place on the outside vent.

Sounds Simple

Sounds simple I know, but make sure your leisure battery is fully charged!! Set to a lower (slower) speed to start with.

Mine did this once and I took it to a dealers for an investigation. All they did was blow compressed air up the external vent and as if by magic it was fixed! Apparently the burner can sometimes get a bit dusty.
That little bit of of valuable experience cost me the minimum repair fee of £20 :rolleyes2:

Similar to Croftland.

Mine has an exhaust pipe under the van. I went without heat for weeks until Ant at Avon Motorcaravans showed me that there was mud blocking the exhaust.

A screwdriver cleaned it out and it worked from then on. Including this morning, where it is frosty here in the South of France. Brrrr.

Truma Heating

Hi Dan

You can download a manual from here
Downloads

I hope you had taken the external cover off ? if your leisure battery is low the heater will not fire up check with the engine running

Hi mine has a vent cover outside of van which must be removed before it will work and then put back on when finished ( bit of a pain but stops vent getting blocked ) Terry

Run a cooker ring first to draw through the gas, once it lights, then try the heater - for some reason (no leaks found) the cooker & hobs will light almost straight away after turning the gas bottle on, but the fridge and heater take a couple of attempts?? Could be that the hob is used EVERY time we use the van, but the hot water/heater is not always needed - just a thought!?!

Once you've downloaded the manual you'll find a help section, plus some basic fault codes via the led's - Mine was, Fault: 'Runs once then red led comes on' - Cause: Gas has too higher Butane content. Doh! Yes it has!!! I had swapped the pigtail and was trying to use up my many 'blue' bottles!!! Re-fitted original pigtail, fitted a red propane bottle - PERFECT/CURED!!!

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
