The sliding door on my daughter’s 2016-17 Fiat Ducata has stopped locking. The rest of the central locking is working fine for the front and back doors but not the side sliding door. So when the van is locked using the remote, the sliding door remains unlocked and when opened sets off the alarm
Does anyone know of a way to manually lock the door? There is a mechanism inside the front door to put a screwdriver in a hole and pop the latch, close the door and it’s locked but on the sliding door there is no latch inside the hole - it’s just empty! Any other ideas on how to lock it? Also any ideas on what could be causing the problem of it not locking on the central locking? She’s cleaned all the contact points and they don’t seem to be the problem. Cheers David

Sometimes the contact points do not touch, there is a way to adjust the points on the sliding door but I am unsure how it is done. Hopefully somebody will know how to re adjust the contact points

Does it lock when locking the old fashioned way with the key in the drivers door we have the same problem that the sliding door does not lock with the remote but does lock using the key when inside the van at night on the drivers door there is a button with a picture of a key wen you press this it locks all doors from the inside never managed to fix ours yet

I suspect Bigshugs on the money here. The contacts will be the same as Iveco vans I used to run a fleet of Ivecos and it was a common issue.

The answer may well be a bit of sand paper and two washers.

Sand paper to clean the contacts, 2 washers to move the plate on the van out closer to the door contacts.

If the 'door open' alarm and light comes on when the ignition is switched on, odds are it's the contacts, and as above the solution is a bit of packing behind the plate.

Try this... Alec.
