Arrived at aire in France yesterday afternoon, got ticket from entry machine, then struggled to find space, levelled up & dashed off as we heard a Carnival procession.

This morning I can't find the entry ticket anywhere...

I need it to pay to leave.

Read somewhere online €100 for lost ticket.

Tempted to press entry button & get another one, but then barrier will be stuck up & it will mess up the numbers...

There is an info button on the machine, and an emergency number.

Any thoughts - I can't be the only one to have done this

Some indication as to the aire and operator might be useful!
Without more info, all that I can say is why not try the info button or the emergency number?

I can see nothing about the aire on the commune's website. I would suggest checking what the Info button does. Otherwise, call the emergency number. If all else fails, the tourist office might be able to assist.

I photograph my entry tickets as soon as we park up and write exit codes in my diary. Seems to keep ours safe. I have had experience of being trapped in a few Aires (with ticket) but unable to get out. A call by the intercom and a mixed language conversation usually sorts it. I guess the person at the other end finds it easiest to simply let the ‘stupid foreigners ‘ out rather than engage in long negotiations.
Or a trip to the hotel de Ville might help.

I said i'd pay for two nights rather than one, but refused to pay €150.

In the end moved back from the barrier & about 10 mins later a French couple allowed us to follow them out 🥰

I offered to pay their ticket, but they refused, so ended up getting nothing from us!!

Just hope we don't get a fine in the post or something - the person on the phone said there were no cameras but there definitely was.

Put me off using a paid aire in future. Definitely learnt a lesson about being v careful with ticket, was just a lot going on

Never go in one the night before a ferry home we where in St Pol de Leon and 3 British vans missed their ferry A french man was having trouble getting out phoned for help they took 2 hrs to respond and he wouldn't move to allow either of the Brits to try came to blows at one stage

Think I would have took the barrier out ?
the barrier down there is one of they that come up out the ground in front of you and you can't use the come in while some ones in position to go out.
What happens down there the machine issues 3 tickets 1 = receipt 2= code to get in 3= code to get out which gets lost often
