My 1st post so thought I'd be polite:D nice site hopefully I might be able to help with some local knowledge were possiable. Me and thewife own a 1990 talbot Express R470 and only bought a camper on a whim..whish we done it a few years ago:eek:. One of the things we need to take into condieration while wild camping is our daughter shes only a few months old at the moment but dont want to get into a situation were we find the location is being used a a dogging spot or pick up place...has anyone came across a problem like this as if the remote spots are known to you then they must be known to others looking to be out of the way from nosey people

Hi Davy,
I'm fairly new to this site myself. I've been wild camping about for a few years now and I've not come across any problems with that kind of thing. There again I usually end up a good distance from any towns or major roads so perhaps I've just been lucky. I would think that people after that kind of thing would want to meet up at easily found places near where they live not miles and miles up some single track road.

The one thing that really makes my blood boil are the disgusting perverts who hang around public lavatories...I never stop anywhere where there are such facilities because invariably a steady stream of these animals will try and attract your attention.......(the number of times I wished I had a rifle...)

A lot of open spaces, Commons, woodland parks etc. on the edges of towns are similarly infested with a wide variety of deviants of every description. Like a lot of animals this scum seems to appear mostly in the evenings
and night.

Keep away from such places and you'll be fine.....don't worry too much about the rant above, I have been wild camping for more years than I care to remember and never really had any problems.

I once stopped over on the lorry park at Avon Forest Park a great place to stop just after getting our heads down a car pulled up beside, I had a quick butchers looked OK just a couple.....next morning lying on the ground next to my van was an empty Viagra packet and an empty fag packet never did make that one out
