Hi everyone, I'm Ali and I've just bought my first motorhome - a lovely old Talbot Express Highwayman. I've been solo travelling for almost 8 years with just a backpack/suitcase, and decided that living in a motorhome was the next step. Lots to learn, still worried about turning everything on lol (hoping to get the courage up to turn on the gas this week!) but it's nice to have my own continuous space, with lots of exciting adventures planned. I would love to connect with anyone else with the same van/has had one in the past - there's a problem with the over the cab bed that I'd dearly like to fix. Looking forward to getting to know you all!!

Hi and welcome from the Red Rose county. 🌹 🌹🌹

There are many single make / model groups on Facebook that may offer more knowledge about stuff specific to your van)/
However, many of our members (myself included!) think they know everything about everything so it always worth asking.

You should consider becoming a full member to get access to POIs and other stuff; One night on a wildcamping location would pay for your subscriptions.

Welcome from the Algarve, where we've settled down 8 years after asking a similar question.
Have fun and adventures

Hello and welcome. I hope it works well for you. I have been wandering for 13 years ( but I have a house) and have met many full time van dwellers. Most are very friendly and all have their own story.
Good luck.

Welcome @travellingbird . I don't know where you are, but if you find yourself somewhere in the middle of the M1 near Rugby or Leicester you could call in and see me and I could show you everything you need to know. I have been motorhoming since 1973 and have owned scores of different makes and models including several Talbot Expresses and I'm a retired gas man so if it doesn't work, I can fix it for you.

Thank you, Moonraker. Sounds as though you have had some great experiences too :) Lovely to e-meet you.

You are so kind, thank you! I'm down on the Sussex coast at the moment, hoping to make my way up through the Midlands in October. I will definitely let you know if I am heading your way, and need some help. I am still looking for someone to do the basic checks (most technicians are booked up for weeks and weeks) so hopefully it will all be sorted soon. I hope! Have a lovely day :)

Welcome to the forum with lots of answers ( and lots of off thread wandering!) Being a full member is definitely the way to go. Makes parking up so much easier having POI to identify safe parkups.
