Hello! Ireland here we come!

Hello all, I'm a newbie and am really looking forward to using the site, getting info, and hopefully being able to help others too.
We have a Transporter and are setting off for Ireland in a couple of weeks for 10 days of touring. Looking for some lovely spots that include lots of outside space for a toddler to go crazy - beach, woods etc! Getting the ferry into Belfast to start off with NI, then heading down to RoI via the west coast, then back up to Dublin for the return ferry. We would greatly appreciate any ideas :) many, many thanks!
Chloe

Donegal is stunning - and Douagh Island Famine Village is really worth a visit and has wonderful beaches nearby

Hi welcome and enjoy ,can't help with Irish pois but give trevskoda a shout and he will keep you sound

Hi and welcome,

We've done the same trip and I think you'll only skim the surface in 10 days; I'd be inclined to concentrate on one area because there really is so much to see - a beautiful country and friendly folk.

HI & welcome dont try to do to much ,if i were you i would stay up norf by going up antrim coast then cross at magilligan ferry to donegal where there are lots of beaches .
I would recomend the famine village then down to letterkenney taking the kids to alcorns butterfly garden or lurgy park.
Then of course for you and kids there is the national park and dunlewey center with play park and lots of walks,on down the road there are beaches to die for,not forgeting dunree fort on the west donegal coast.
If you do wish to go south do vis tyto park near ashbourne, the kids will love it.
Then there is newgrange which is a must see.
Also leaving belfast there is carrick castle.
A lot to see in 10 days and you will require a break after this lot.

Arranmore

See if you have time to take a trip to Arranmore Island when you are in donegal. Just a 15min ride on the barge and plenty of wild camping options once you are there. We stayed a couple of hundred meters from the main town (as directed by the lady selling is the ferry tickets) and no one bothered us at all. Plenty of space for the kids and a few family friendly pubs serving dinner also (had a great night at Earlys Bar!).. added bonus is the locals speaking Gaelic which is great to sit back and listen to!

thanks!

WOW, thanks Trevskoda, and everyone else - that's fantastic info! Gosh, it does sound like there is a lot to see! Really looking forward to it - I need to mark all of these places on a map.
Thank you!
