Hi all ,just a quick hello from sunny Portugal, we are currently at the Mines Santa Domingos, great place to be, weather is great at the moment, about 80 d and it's been like this for a week now, not many Brit vans about at the moment, lots of other Nationalities though, we have been out for 50 nights now, Wild camping and Aires all the time, no problems, we started our tour in Germany, and came down the Romantic Route, from Wursburg to Fussen, a great trip and very scenic ,called into Hymer at BAD WALDSEE for a few bits and pieces, not cheap though. We then crossed France from Colmar to Bayonne, and into Spain and on to Portugal, getting mixed reports about Wilding on the Algarve being a no no , but we shall see.I am currently in the Library at Mines de Los Domingos and have free Internet access. We plan to be away till next May, so still have a lot to see and do, best wishes to all Malc.

nice one have a good trip wilding in Spain & Portugal seams to get harder we've heard it's a no no in places . happy camping

Getting harder in a few places but still plenty places to wild Spain and Portugal depends where you want to be,Stay away from the big groups of Motorhomes that gather up Seen over 100 in some places . We try to stay out of the way. Lots of airs now in Spain and quite a few in Portugal as well now,We spent 6 weeks touring around Spain no problems at all wilding.. Did`nt need to go on a Campsite once. Also this is our 5th time to Portugal we wild camp all the time except xmas at Lagos for a couple of nights because we meet up with friends for a meal we go on site there.

Hi again, sorry about the delay in replying, no internet access till now, we are now at Castro Marin on the new free Aire, no other Brits here at the moment but plenty of Dutch. Weather is great, hot and sunny although it did rain for two hours yesterday, but the rain was warm and the sun came out again, we spent last 2 nights at Ville Real de San Antonio, on the harbour, no problems, signs up saying camping is naughty but no one bothered us and some looked as though they had been there for ever, Diesel is currently about 1 e 17 cents litre at the moment so that won't break the bank, food and eating out is still cheap here so all is well. From the Mines at San Domingos we went to POMARAO, about 12 miles down the Guardiana river to where the Ore from the Mines was taken by train to be shipped all over the World, Pomarao is a great place to Wild Camp, water and toilet dump and a great cheap Bar Restaraunt here, the new bridge to Spain is also here so all is very easy, a bit of a steep hill down and a right hand bend to access the harbour, but we got down OK in our Tag Hymer, and there was a huge ex army vehicle there with a huge trailer attached, the lorry weighed in at 14 tonnes without the trailer so you can see that most vehicles can access the spot easily. If you do go to Pomarao, be aware that there are NO shops there at all so you will need to have plenty of food aboard, although a Grocery van is reputed to call there, but we never saw it in the 3 nights we had there. So, we plan a couple of nights here at Castro Marin then on to who knows where, I will post again when I can get on line again best wishes to all Malc. PS there is a new [to us ] Aire and Bourne at MERTOLA, it's on the Left as you come down the hill from the North ,just before the road bridge, free to use ,we actually spent the night on the harbour at Mertola, but did service the van at the Bourne.

Camping in Portugal is amazing, there are little town around Lisbon that are just magical.
