Hello! finally taken the plunge!

was registered a while back and have now finally bit the bullet and bought a swift sundance 600s. We have had our first week (well 4 nights) on a site in north wales and loved it.

we had a few minor niggles and laffs along the way, forgot various items (including set of knives for cooking!) and the gas regulator packed up the first time we used the cooker in anger, but that was quickly sorted.

our aim is to try a few different paid sites first and then try some wild camping, maybe a tour of scotland mixing paying sites with wild ones.

the van worked well and we got on fine with the tanks/toilet etc , was pleasantly suprised at how well we slept and how well the shower etc worked. (end bathroom with plenty of room and a double overcab bed).

the van is an 06 2.3td fiat based, with 5k miles on it and like new inside.

off to read about possible sites now for our next trip away!:)

Welcome to the Wildies :)

If you haven't yet spotted it, there's a Wild Camping Map & POI forum where you can download Google Earth and satnav POI information for around 1500 spots in England, Wales and Scotland.

This is continually updated with new spots, and revisions to existing spots, from information posted on this site.

To access this information you'll need to become a Site Supporter - click the link at the top right for more info.

Enjoy your new 'van, and have lots of fun! Let us know how you get on.

And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have.

Regards

Chris

thanks for the responses! just come back from a great weekend at Shelsley Walsh watching the historic hillclimbing. loved it!

found a problem tho with the van which is worrying , will post in another section if appropriate. electric step is starting to pull its retaining bolts thro the floor right at the door, it appears the floor has suffered some damp/water ingress and the wood is rotten just where the bolts lie. had to fold the step back and use a small plastic step this weekend. bit disapointed but have a warranty on van and dealer (related!) bought so ringing him tomorrow. :(

didnt spoil our weekend tho and great weather:)
