My husband and I are borrowing/ hiring various vehicles atm in order to try and work out what works best for us before we buy something. Done a fair bit of tent camping in basic campsites but not done wild tent camping yet tho that had always been the plan. We are hiring an Autotrail Imala for a long weekend in October and while having booked a pitch somewhere for one night, we are looking to wild camp at least one night in it. Also looking to hire a California camper van next time to try as I'd prefer something small. I have a desire to sense a certain freedom during our holidays and not be cooped up cheek by joule with lots of others. Never been the sort to fly abroad and stay in a large complex full of lots of other brits abroad, fighting to grab a deck chair! Spent a few days up in the lake district this summer, walking and enjoying the rain, the solitude and nature, coming back to our base accommodation in the evenings. Well, that's my introduction I guess! I came across this forum and thought it would be a good wealth of info on wild camping. Hope to learn a fair bit from reading through the threads. Thanks.
