Please try to help get these confounded barriers banned. They are predudicial to Motorhomes/campervans as well as some
invalid vehicles, cycle carriers and loaded roof-racks. They can cause tremendous damage if not seen in time.
There is a petition on-line to No10 to get them outlawed, please sign it at:

If enough people sign; it has to be brought up in parliament.
Post it in facebook or twitter and tell all friends.

Two votes cast from us.

I've also posted it on the Autosleepers Owners Forum.

Signed, but the number of 100,000 is totally stacked against small groups in society such as motorhomers.

Even if our cause is totally just, it could end up being ignored, because of the numbers game.

Its a start and if we fail it has cost us nothing but how good would it be if it worked.

Thank you for signing. I know the numbers game will probably sink the plan but it's worth a bloody good try. If many of us continue to spread the word out to "Twitter" and "facebook" our clubs and associations maybe.... just maybe......we can do it!

Well, my van is 9'2" high, so I do get affected. However, I really hope you don't succeed.
The only time I've seen that happen, resulted in the car park being rapidly invaded by "travellers" so that nobody could get to park and it cost the council a small fortune to shift them.

Our local council handed over a publicy owned car park to Asda. The car park is split into four sections. Underground ( with height barriers - naturally),and three ground level sections. Of the three ground level sections, one has a height prohibition (but no barrier) The other two have no prohibition. The one that has the prohibition is the one that is immediately in front of the store, so is more popular than the others. I suspect that the height prohibition is more a way of controlling the size of the vehicle rather than the height, but as it is no tighter spacewise than the others I can only guess at the reason.
