Details of your entitlement in the EU:- Travelling in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland

For non EU countries see:- Travelling outside the European Economic Area (EEA)

hi morocco isnt covered by the card . it seems you can visit a clinic and payfor prscriptions.(i have done that)or visit a hospital, and pay for xrays and things like bandages and plaster. (my mate broke his wrist last winter cost 110 quid for two plaster casts and xrays). was told seeing a doctor was free.we left before the 6 weeks were upso doctor alan got the job of cutting off the plaster.and a good job i did. many do go there to have operatuions specially the germans they tell us its cheaper thanin germany. i dont know ,i like our nhs. i get good service from it. but most travellers i know dont bother with extra health ins. just get driven back to spain if at all possible.cheers alan.

Just had a look at the EHIC plus, the annual multi trip is what I would need but it only has a max of 60 days  We tend to do trips of around 90 days. Look like we will have to just take a chance with the normal EHIC. Every time I have looked at getting travel insurance they either won't give me the cover I want (either for the time we are away or cover for per-existing conditions) or the cost would mean we couldn't afford to go.

I just had another look at that EHICPLus web page it says "cover for trips up to 4 months", is that for single trip cover? We only used to take out the Annual Multi trip 30 day cover.

I had saw a doctor and had a chest X-ray last year in Morocco, it cost the equivalent of 28 euros, I was pleased with the treatment and the price, to visit a doctor in france is 23 euros and a specialist charges 28 euros both good value and dentists are reasonable as well. Bambi 2
I couldn't find Morroco listed there, however, my European Travel Insurance which comes with my Santander bank account covers all EU countries + all countries which border the Med., so I guess I'm covered in Morroco? BTW, if you have EHIC card EHICPlus insurance is cheap particularly if you are "getting on a bit".

Just tried putting in a single trip & it allows up 122 days, even then the quote they give is only if you have no medical problems. I assume the premium then goes up depending on your condition.

Hi
Last year we used Endsleigh Insurance Services. One of our single trips was for 4 months but for Europe only. Pre-existing medical conditions are covered. (Simple Yes and No questions). Really user friendly site. It wasn't too expensive for peace of mind. I'm sure they would extend cover for Morocco. It might be worth checking out.
