I have an avtex tv, and I am wondering if it’s possible via a blutooth dongle to stream tv from my phone on to the tv. I have came up against situations were I have good phone and data reception, but no tv. I have an Apple phone.

Cheers.

I use a devise on my Windows phone (also works with windows laptop), I'm struggling to remember if it uses wifi or Bluetooth, it displays the phone/laptop screen on tv whilst still leaving usb on phone open so you can charge, if I remember when I get home I'll look to see if it's compatible with other systems.

The Amazon fire tv stick has an app for doing this but last I looked I think it may be more suited to Android devices.

The obvious way for Apple devices would be to use an Apple TV connected to the hdmi port on the tv then stream to that.

I got an hdmi lead that connects through lightening port to hdmi on tv then you just select port on tv and okay that way. It has usb for power that I take from tv so that’s a wired dilution that cost me £7 off eBay I think

We didn’t bother with Bluetooth connection we just use a HDMI Adapter for Phone/Pad, pple HDMI Adaptor,1080P Digital AV HDMI Cable Adapter with Charging Port,Sync Screen HDMI Connector for OS 11 and Before[Need power supply] HDMI Adapter for Phone/Pad, pple HDMI Adaptor,1080P: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Make sure your phone is fully charged and you don’t need a power supply

If you are going to use a HDMI wired connection then you might need a right angled adapter if your TV is close to the motorhome wall (ours is).

I'm afraid it only works with Miracast compatible devises, so that's Windows and Android. You need some that supports Airplay it seems.

The Avtex TV does not work with a cable and Samsung Tablet. Well it does if you can lip read. Sound is missing. Tried allsorts over last couple of days and nothing works. Did get sound using a cable from ear piece socket to radio Aux In but the picture was a couple of seconds in front of the sound.

Only unit I can find on Amazon is Miracast as it doesn't need a WiFi connection to work. All Miracast is is a Local Area Network using WiFi. Ordered one from Amazon will pick it up next week as we are out and about.

Apple uses Air Play so you need an Apple Airplay unit to get it to work.

We use the official apple adapter and an hdmi cable.

Make sure the app you want to stream from allows hdmi out as sky and bt used to disable this option.

Get a Firestick or a Roku stick then connect to your phone using its mobile hotspot function. That's what we used to do with my iPhone before we got a mifi router.

I hadn’t tried that app with iPhone so wasn’t sure if it was only for Android. Good to know it does work

I use a fire stick with the Air Receiver app. This works great with all Apple devices.

And be aware if you cut corners and buy a non-Apple adapter to save a few bob it probably won’t work after the next IOS software update...where as the Apple one does.

Hi Barge1914,

Do you know if the Apple adapter will show Sky Go and BBC IPlayer programs downloaded on an iPad on the TV?
