Haunted Motorhome?!

Here's a strange one...

I live in a small block of flats with a private, off-road car park. I overlook the car park from my kitchen window, and have a clear view of my motorhome parked down there. I look out every morning and at other times during the day just to make sure all's okay, though there's no reason why it shouldn't be.

The last time I used my bus was on Saturday night, when I spent the night out wildcamping. When I returned on Sunday, I did all the usual checks before locking up - making sure all the doors and windows were secured, that the gas and electrics were off, and that the skylights were shut tight (I've got two - one above the main area and one above the over-cab bed - and they both have standard wind-up/wind-down handles). Every day since, as I've said, I've checked out of the window. Every time I go out, too, I pass through the car park.

This morning, I went to the gym first thing. Everything looked normal - as it still was when I returned. I've been sitting for the last couple of hours doing some work, and decided to break for a coffee. While I was in the kitchen I glanced out of the window... and the skylight above the bed was open a couple of inches! :scared:

I ran straight down. There were no signs of a break in, and definitely no signs that anyone had been on the roof (even if there had been, they wouldn't have been able to prise the skylight open). I checked everything inside and it was all okay. Nothing had been touched. I clambered up and wound the skylight closed again. It was open a full two turns.

Well... I'm stumped! I know that for the last maybe 20 times I've checked the bus since Saturday, both skylights were closed.

And no... I haven't been drinking or taking any strange substances!

Hmm...

very strange??

I had a friend who's house had strange goings on in it. One of the strangest was when she came home one day to find a wardrobe dismantled and neatly layed out on the floor?? :scared: She was told a previous owner had died by falling off the roof and he didn't want to leave?? If you believe that kind of thing?? She belived it and had the house exorcised and nothing since?

Do you have a stubborn previous owner?

Not that I know of. It had one owner from new (1995) - a retired gent who was very careful and meticulous. He kept receipts for every little thing (bulbs, fuses, the lot) and made sure all the services were done on time. He clearly cared very much for it because it's spotless. The interior looks brand new. He stopped using it 5 years ago, when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He kept hold of it though - possibly reluctant to part with it - until his son finally took it over and sold it to the dealer I got it from. After I bought it, I tried to contact the previous owner to assure him it was in good hands - I had a feeling he might like to know that - but I could never get through.

Ho hum! I'll wait and see if anything else happens! Sure hope there are no spooks in the loo! :D

If you had the kind of clip shut skylight, then perhaps you could blame the wind, but I don't see how wind could shake loose a wind shut one?? (that's assuming there WAS any wind the previous night.

Maybe the previous owner died that night, and paid a last visit to his beloved motorhome. He left the skylight open to remind you he'd be keeping an eye open to make sure you cherished and looked after it!!

Do you know, that was the first thing that came into my mind when I read the story. It's a nice thought anyway!
