Happy St Patricks Day

Greetings to all our Irish cousins today from Scotland and here's a glass of potcheen to you!!

Took the goldwing across there last summer with my (70 year old) neighbour and his harley.... Great place, very friendly people, never been before but will def be back. Downside was goldwing is too heavy for any bike lifter kits 'cos my castaway has quite a long overhang and makes the mechanical moment impossible. If it were possible to disappear with bike and van the much beloved would see a lot less of me!!!!

paddys day

gud luk to you firefighter
i`l stick with the black bush and ice. slan`tie......
may the wind be always at your back and the road rise up to meet you.

wots da wing 15 or 18.

I dont think a Saint is celebrated more than St Pat. All he did was drive the snakes out of Ireland,or was i not listening at school RE lessons.
''Barman more Guinness and Bushmills chaser please"

Goldwing is a 58 1800GL bit big at times but great for long runs, the technical stuff is flat six horizontally opposed fuel injected turbo. Faster than some sports bikes I've been on. Had a great time in Ireland with it, we went Stranraer to Belfast up the east coast carrickfergus etc giants causeway into the BUSHMILLS factory!!! then back down to Belfast. Met a shed load of nice people and I'm gonna do it again!!:D:D

yea happy st pats to all our irish freinds dont get too much of the black stuff down you .....as if .....:D:D

Ah but I'm an old boring safe biker now!! It's amazing how life's hard knocks and experiences give you a fear of your own mortality!! That corner that would have been a knee scraper is now one full of observations and safe speed approaches.

The Irish deal we got was from Stenna. 4 o'clock in the morning Stranraer to Belfast with breakfast and return 1800 hours with 2 course dinner all for 20 quid! they're called biker specials and the irish get them too. There are about half a dozen dates in the year when they are available. You should have a check on it, we met hundreds of bikers that day from all over the west of Britain who had availed themselves of it.

A flat six cylinder fuel injected turbo bike???? Bugger, my first road bike was a Bound, 98cc with only two gears!!! No kickstart, y'had to bump start it, but it got me to work and back. I was lucky, I was into bikes when all the miners were getting cars, so it was not uncommon to be given a piece of British Iron for nothing that was working and roadworthy. I had a British Anzani 250cc rotary valve disc induction two stroke in perfect condition given me, several Villiers engined bikes, a couple of Norton 600 singles, a Norton Atlas, both Enfield bullets, the 350 and the 500, a couple of AJS's, including a scrambler but my favourite was a 650cc Speed Twin with a chair on it. Darn good fun!!:D

Norris

Betcha wish you had some of those vintage bikes still in your possession now Norris. Been on some vintage bike sites and prices are through the roof:D
