This is Worthing beach when we were allowed to overnight there, day parking only now . the Hymer with the screw through the back panel was the result of it being reupholstered at Brownhills Preston, the screw was put in the bed headboard to secure it, I think it was a tad too long, my mates van it was eventually sorted, we used to spend a few days on the beach here with about 10 Grandchildren not all ours hee hee our friends lived in Worthing and we used to visit them. Great beach to teach the kids kite flying.

I live not far from there and it's one of my favourite places. I used to love seeing all the motorhomes parked along the greenswards when my late husband and I used to walk the coast 3 times a week. I still go there from time to time to walk and on Martin's birthday next month, I will visit the spot further along the coast where we scattered his ashes. We never did overnight there because we could easily get home but would sometimes take the van down for the day as the base for our walk. It'll be lovely one day soon to see families back there, along all the greenswards, picnicking and kicking a ball around with the kids.

Sorry to be a bit negative, but I'm not impressed at all with the awning, table and chairs all over the place. It just makes me very sad that it's seeing stuff like this that led to local bad feeling, so now we've lost a good spot 😥

Edit to say... it's not actually Worthing beach, it's Goring-by-Sea and the greensward between Goring and Ferring, leading along to Ferring beach and then Kingston Gorse. Worthing is more typically seaside but this stretch is a bit more natural. The Goring Gap beach is the only spot along the South coast where farmland meets the beach apparently. The geography makes for good winds, so the wind and kite surfing are a fabulous sight to see, with the greenswards being the perfect place for dad to teach the kids the basics on kite boards with wheels on the grass.

Lovely spot. This is where we first met Jennie and Martin ( Minisorella ). We had just joined Wildcamping for motorhomes and this was a meet and greet moment. We all had a lovely walk and chat. We all next met at Greywell village pub.
Met Phil and the rest of the gang at that meet. Great times.
Annie ( Campervanannie ) and Charlie ( banned member ) and others tried our hardest to stop the TRO coming into force. We even attended council meetings.
But we were really were up against it. Parish council and Ilex way conservation group pulling all the strings.
Annie was to find out later that the leader of the Ferring Parish council had bought land opposite and planned a possible campsite. It still sits idle today.
I think at the time what really spoilt it for others was that someone decided to park their large campervan wagon there long term. It became an eyesore. It was quite out of order as I believe they lived in Grand Avenue locally but neighbours would complain when parked there.
Anyway Annie and I know some campfire story's to be told about the goings on around the time of the TRO,some quite amusing.
Please do continue to come for the day as I live locally and would love to stop for a chat and say Hello. If you wish to stay for the night I can give you some pointers.
Let's hope we can get together soon at a meet.
Stay alert.
Cheers. David.
