Local television here in the South had local Authorities asking House holders to pour their Grey Water,[ from baths ,washing machines and sinks etc. ] over and around the trees and shrubs in their streets as the Councils can't afford to water these trees and shrubs and don't have enough water to do it anyway. So it seems that those of us [ Motorhomers ] who have always thrown their waste water into the hedges have been right all along .

more pillocks at the council spouting rubbish

trees and shrubs have deep roots which search downwards for ground water , pouring a little bit of water on the surface occasionally does no good at all.. just encourages the grass and weeds to grow.

My Dad used to do it at home. It kept the Greenfly off his Roses.

It is also advised as OK by both major caravan Clubs.

I don't think there's anything wrong with dumping it on vegetation or even grass as long as it doesn't contain a lot of washing up liquid or soap. After all, it is just water dirt and small food particles. Positively nutritious to most vegetation I would think. The food will soon break down and has some compounds like nitrates and phosphorous in it.
