Hello my fellow CVOs

Just joined your magnifcent forum after spending days reading through all the postings.

Have been M/homeing for several years now and can honestly say that every time out in my MH not once have I booked on a commercial site.
To be honest I think they are over priced for suppling nopthing of any use to a MH owner, They are ok or even great for caravan owners but they certainly don't cater for the tourer who wants to roam and I understand that some want you to stay a minimum of 2/3 nights well they can keep it I wanna explore

:p I WANNA DRIVE MY BED NOT PULL IT :rolleyes:

Greetings to you

Hi PCi MH Buddy
You hit the nail on the head, I'm with you roaming without bedding down on a plug in site. I find a quiet beautiful spot on this earth, run my generator and plug in for the night 9 times outta 10 on the edge of a sandy beach and dose off to the sound of the sea. I'd rather spend my money on gasoline than sites. You travel further and see more of this planet. Have fun buddy

Question

OK, all you guys who NEVER stay on commercial sites:

<whisper>
What do you do with the waste from the toilet, if you have one?
</whisper>

I've been told that it shouldn't be put down an ordinary loo because of the chemicals in it, which is why all commercial sites have specific elsan disposal points rather than allowing people to use the regular toilets. If you stop and empty out in a village public convenience, is this really fair on the locals? Or worse, just tip it into a ditch?

Not a criticism, just wanting to know.

Well it all rests on the chemicals you use and whether the Loo goes to mains drainage or cess pit. The stuff I use ( cab't think of name at mo ) is the enviromentally friendly stuff and that can be put down a normal toilet. I checked with my local water treatment people and they have no problem with it, so minecomes home with me and is disposed of here. I think that the chemical enriched stuff that was about at one time is no longer made but I could be wrong ( someone may shed light on that matter ) and if you have a SOG unit then no addatives are used at all so safe in either way.

you all take care now ya hear
