If you do not know.

When you have google earth up & running displaying Europe, type - municipal camping- in left hand search box. tick box numbers that appear & a multitude of sites appear all over France. These can then be zoomed onto & pinpointed. Also does the same for service stations etc. Very handy if like us you stop in them on the way to southern climes.

google earth

I used to like google earth, but every IT section i have been in contact with hates it. They remove it from all our work PCs because of the problems it causes to other software on the PCs. But its brill looking at the detail it provides. Wen I put my postcode in, it reminds me how fortunate I am to have all the green areas around us.

Better than....

Google earth is a wonder,
But there are far better for our use (giving GPS coordinates): http://www.gpscoordinates.eu/
and the dutch version is even better: giving also all campings in france and around:http://www.gpscoordinaten.nl/bepaal-gps-coordinaten.php
and in the UK no better than: http://www.multimap.com/ you can get Ordnance Survey section maps and 3D on satelite (but it doesn't show heightbarriers and 'no overnights' but it does mention pubs and loos, an could be used for walks in the neighbourhood). The satelite photo's are even better than Google Earth's
These photo's are on the limit of 'privacy' - I even could see my dog in the backyard !- (he was p**ng, I figured )
