Ours shows even greater detail - but thankfully was photographed on a day when the Roo was away camping.

Bin down our street too, showed my car on the drive, fortunately with the reg no blanked out.

If you use Google maps and keep zooming in to an area you go to street view at the last zoom level if your area is covered.

We saw their camera car coming off the ferry at Lochmaddy on Uist last year.

Amazing is'nt it?, they let Google do this but persecute hobby photographers doing exactly the same thing, under the anti-terrorist legislation.

I have been very lucky with the street view.

The van is in storage, my car and the wifeys are not there but my son`s Corsa is on our drive.

Nowt worth nicking then. :D:D:D:D

My FTO was in the driveway, which i sold to help fund our Hymer, but i was intrigued to know where my van was so i street viewed myself around my post walk and wasnt there but lo and behold it was at work parked in the yard where i saw it from the street lol

I wonder what else it has caught people doing?:)

Do the people who own the house let you plug in as well :D

ah right I see :)

(it is an old peoples home after all)

Why are people worried about reg numbers being blanked out :confused::confused:

Reg numbers being blanked out is a good thing because it helps to prevent them being cloned by nasty people and used on stolen cars to commit crime.

The trouble with Google Streetview though is that car thieves can still see the make and model of vehicles outside any premises and it can give them an idea of where to go for motors worth nicking.

In some cases their cameras have picked up things like TV's, hi-fi's, video's etc through peoples front windows.

Now you don't have to walk round an area looking suspicious, just pick your house on streetview and see if it's worth having a go at!!!

Lovely isnt it,its only ok if a massive company like google can invade your privacy without your consent, but if you or i did it we would be arrested and taken to court.Isnt the world a fair place.

If I was a thief I would just sit by a road and watch for a car going past of the same make or model to the one I wanted to clone, randomly picking streets on google maps hoping to find the car I want seems a bit unlikely but I guess it does not hurt to blank them out.

Why be paranoid about people knowing what you have got in the house, I bet every mid price house in the country has the same crap to steal worth about the same amount, we are all the same earning the same mid range **** wage, OK a few people might have a slighly better TV or top range plasma but unless you live behind gates I recon everyone in the same street is going to have about the same value in the house, which is probably quite sad.

Thieves walk up and down roads not to see who has the best stuff to nick but to see which fool has left their doors or windows open all they want is to earn £20 to buy a fix. :)

Me I worry more about what they are collecting via loyalty cards and search engines, from those things they really know what you have in your house, what its worth and when your out of the house doing your shopping.
