Good head torch

Hi All - I am hoping to start my adventure soon, and for outside round the house I have often used a head torch. Though this was fine for short distances it always seemed a bit weak and also got through the batteries very quickly. Can anyone recommend a really good one. On the subject of batteries I am about to do another post

Have a look at this on Amazon I use rechargeable batteries in mine don't get one with built in batteries you just have to wait whilst they charge the if you use it a lot you can carry spare batteries and charge the others when convenient.

Hi dippingatoe,

I use an Energiser 3 led headtorch it has two settings 1 Led or all on, very bright, bought at Wilko for around £5. Cannot comment on the battery usage as I have only had it for 15 months and not changed them ( 3 x AAA ), I use it most nights this time of year locking the Chickens in. :lol-049::lol-049::lol-061:

I have 3 of these, 2 are cheapies which are fine around a camp site, but for nights on the mountain I use a Petzl Tikka;

It is very powerful and the battery life is excellent.

I have two LED Lensers the same as this which takes 3 AAA batteries but I also bought two of these for the bikes but they have a headband as well, these have a rechargeable battery pack so I just plug it into the mains charger once a week and it is like having a car headlamp on your head, it all depends what you want one for, Police torches are LED Lenser or at least were, I bought them because our local Policeman showed me his torch, I was under the van bonnet as he walked past so he shone his torch in to help and I was so impressed I bought a torch and two headlights from the same Manufacturer, expensive and better quality than the other ones but not as bright

LED lenser are brilliant but not cheap, after I trying Aldi and Halfords stuff, my Lenser really works well and you will get good support if you do have a problem. I recently bought a Leatherman online and the offer came with a "free" small Lenser so its worth looking around for a deal. That being said , if you need it to guide you to the loo, An inexpensive one will do the.
