Go directly to last post in thread

Maybe it was just me, but to get to the last post in a thread, I'd open the thread and click on the last button.

Then the other day I spotted a little icon under the "Last Post" of the thread links on the home page.

After the contributors name is a small green box with a double arrow, this takes you to the last post directly!!!!!!. It was one of those Eureka moments, then I kicked myself for not noticing it before!

Maybe everyone's thinking, that's bloo*y obvious, but for thicko's like me out there, it's a new short cut.

All I have to do now is train myself to use it!! Old dogs, new tricks etc!!

Have to admit, I was doing the same, that makes it so much quicker. How simple things can be.

Well done pete from a fellow thicko.

How do I put a permanent message at the bottom of each post?

Me too

:idea-007: ...

Oh yes

Isn't it simple once you know.

Thanks for that useful info, perhaps we should have a "let's show you how to do it" meet. ...

I didn't know this either, perhaps others have tips for site navigation?

Going to the last post means you could miss reading lots of posts in the thread, so I would have thought using the "Go to first unread post" icon would be more useful

Yes, but if you've been following a thread, it's useful.

Shame on you in you line of work! TechnoPlebs like me are excused by cursing the tv remote for not working, changing the batteries- still not working, pricing a replacement up, then having your wife call you an idiot for trying to change channel with the dvd remote!!

I discovered said button on the forum/list page but thought it was just another way of opening that thread...?! Now I know what it really does from an expert.....

I have actually tried to change channels with my mobile phone before now!

I tried to pay for a full tank of diesel earlier using my library card. It wouldn't work in the machine, tried several times, couldn't understand why the cashier was looking at me strangely

It would have been blooming marvellous if it had worked though  but I probably would never have noticed I'd got away with a free tank of fuel. And even if I had noticed afterwards, I'd have felt soooooooooooooooo guilty that I'd have probably gone back and 'fessed up.

About the year 2000 when pay at the pump was new, I went down to the West country for New Year with a lady who shall remain nameless. Anyway, I paid at the pump for the first time, and drove off. She expected me to go to the kiosk and asked why not. I said I had driven off without paying. She went completely ballistic. Oh well, it was a good yarn for 20 secs before I let on!

Back on topic, it's always worth hovering over icons and links you haven't seen before. If you have the link tips turned on it willl tell you in a box what they do. You may well find something useful :)
